How to re-post an Instagram post

Transcript

Hi Everyone!

I thought I would share this little technique with you all – this question did get asked in one of the Facebook Groups, and it was “how do I share an Instagram post that I have seen?”.

So, just very quickly, I’m just sharing my iPhone screen here.

If we go into Instagram.

And, I’ve got my personal feed here, following  (scoff’s)  lot’s of people who do exercise as it happens, and we’ve got Nicola’s post here, from “The Wardrobe Provocateur”.

So, there are three dots in the top right-hand corner of this post, if you can just see along from her name there. If I click on that, it give’s me this other menu. If you click on “Copy Share URL”, and it says it has been copied to the clipboard there.

Now, if I come out of that, and go to “Repost” app, which you can get from the Apple Store, and here at the very top it has “New”, and her post.

So, if I click on that, you can see the picture that she shared, you can adjust where you want the share button to appear, you can change the colour from light to dark – hopefully so that it isn’t covering up too much of that message there.

Then click “Repost” and ‘Copy to Instagram’. Now, what this does is, not only brings in the new picture with your little reference to where you copied it from.

In the bottom left-hand corner is a round circle with two arrows, if you click that, it will scale it so it brings it all into the screen there. Click ‘Next’, ‘Next’ again.

Now in the caption box, if you tap and click Paste, Repost will put in the original message from that Instagram user, as well as a hashtag, their name and their credit or references to how you’ve done that, as well.

So there’s Nicola’s original text there, if we click ‘OK’, then ‘Share’. It’s posting there, so you can see now that my account, Blueocto, has re-posted The Wardrobe Provocateur and in the comments beneath I’ve also credited her and the app for doing so.

I hope that helps a lot, take care!
