Background
Geothermal Energy from Mines and Solar Geothermal Heat (GEMS) is a Durham Energy Institute (DEI) interdisciplinary project. Exploring whether water from flooded, abandoned mines could be used as a low-carbon, geothermal source of heat for the UK’s homes.
The problem
They had an existing website that had not been updated in some time and needed a refresh and the ability to manage the content more effectively.
In addition, the ability to create user logins, so that they can access restricted parts of the website for documents and files, specific to their project.
The solution
We worked with Warm Design, whom is a trusted agency with Durham University, to create fresh new design concepts, with varying ‘look and feel’ to the site.
We developed the website on WordPress, which allowed us to create flexibility in the layouts and for the team to edit content quickly and easily.
Tapping into the User functionality with WordPress to create a secure area for downloading and uploading files for the team.
